Alberta is an actress and director. She has an MA in Italian Literature from the University of Venice and trained both in Commedia dell’Arte and in physical theatre with Serena Sinigaglia.
She has participated in international drama workshops led by Enrico Bonavera, Stefano Perocco di Meduna, Jerky Koslowski, and Bob Heddle Roboth.
Her professional career began under the guidance of Virgilio Zernitz, initially as an actress and assistant director. In 1997 she won a national award as best actress.
She lives in Venice, where for the last 25 years she’s been working as a drama teacher and directing various productions, including Il servitore in prova (adapted from The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni) and Tempeste,, based on The Tempest by William Shakespeare.
With Bottegavaga in 2019 she took her bilingual Arlecchino torn in three to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This was a devilishly fast-paced version of Goldoni’s masterpiece The Servant of Two Masters. In 2024 she took her Arlecchino & Felicity or Romeo and Juliet Unchained to the Camden Fringe Festival (London). In this bilingual show, Commedia dell’Arte meets Shakespeare.
