As grown ups, theatre is our way to keep our childlike playfulness, which means that our children’s shows and our shows for grown ups are not that different from each other. In both cases we pursue poetry, magic, emotion and meaning.
We believe in theatre that creates beauty. The kind of beauty that comes from hard work and brings meaning. The beauty of balancing opposites: laughter and tears, reason and emotion, lightheartedness and depth, pain and pleasure, recklessness and wisdom, rage and relief, pessimism and hope, questions and answers.
Our theatre is for everyone, even for those who don’t speak Italian, the understanding of which is difficult, of course, but can be helped by the impactful emotions we convey.
We believe in a theatre that expresses our values: its content, aesthetics and methods are carried out with our professional skills and with kindness.
We believe in ensemble effort and democracy, everyone takes care of the group and the group values the skills of each individual.
We believe in a theatre where the body is the main asset. While rehearsing in an empty space, our body substitutes whatever is missing, evokes the necessary props, provides support, grounding as well as freedom. As much as in life, our body knows what is needed.
We believe in a theatre that can change our perception of things. A body can change features, posture, identity, an object can change its function and be used in other ways.
We believe in a minimalistic theatre, as we are considerate of energetic and economic sustainability. A show, to us, is a humble, consistent, harmonious and self-sufficient microcosm with a low impact on the environment.
We believe in a theatre that does not follow the patterns and imposed trends of the contemporary theatre scene and seeks authenticity.
We believe in a theatre that looks with admiration at our past heritage, but embraces new values and methods to bring innovation in the most traditional types of theatre.
We see ourselves as theatrical artisans, as we create things “the old way”: our theatre is modest, tailor made for the participants, made of bodies and stories.
We believe that actors and directors are first and foremost human beings talking to other human beings, in a relationship of respect, mutual consideration and care.
We believe that the pursuit of happiness, the full blossoming of the human being, is crucial to the health of both individuals and communities. Therefore in the last few years we have undertaken a path called Pedagogy of Joy, working on texts, themes and creative languages that convey vitality and go straight to the audience’s heart.
Like alchemists, we search for gold, our gold being emotion, amazement and new thoughts.
We are searching for a real connection with the audience, to plant a seed in their hearts.
