Vanni is a professional actor. He trained in Commedia dell’Arte in Venice and has been touring internationally with the Avogaria Theatre Company with the show La Commedia degli Zanni directed by Giovanni Poli. He has taken part in drama workshops lead by Ferruccio Soleri and Enrico Bonavera where he discovered “his own Arlecchino”. He’s been directed by Virgilio Zernitz,
Claudio Di Scanno, Giuseppe Emiliani, Sabine Uitz, Patricia Zanco and Daniela Mattiuzzi.
He has researched physical theatre with Danio Manfredini, Giorgio Rossi and other international companies. He’s been directed by the prominent director Serena Sinigaglia in the production In Viaggio Verso Sarajevo.
He has interpreted Arlecchino in Il servitore in prova and Caliban in Tempeste, both directed by Alberta Toninato. With Bottegavaga in 2019 he took part in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Arlecchino Torn in Three, a bilingual and devilishly fast-paced version of Goldoni’s masterpiece The Servant of Two Masters. In 2024 he performed in the Camden Fringe Festival (London) in Arlecchino & Felicity or Romeo and Juliet Unchained, a bilingual show where Commedia dell’Arte meets Shakespeare.
