The main characters of the Commedia dell\u2019Arte <\/em>such as Pantalone and Arlecchino, were created in Venice between the sixteenth and eighteenth centuries. Masks have provided an endless source of comedy and laughter, representing and preserving the ancient wisdom and techniques of traditional theatre and are still, to this day, hugely fascinating.<\/p>\n
